Not all Christmas music sucks. In fact, when it comes to Glow, the Big Band-inspired holiday album from Brett Eldredge which first released in 2016 and received a deluxe reissue this year, it rocks.
Today, Esquire.com is excited to premiere the video for Eldredge’s striking interpretation of “First Noel.”

“We wanted to show how we are all going through life searching for peace,” Eldredge says of what he wanted to accomplish when it came time to shooting a video for the oft-covered classic. “And the [simple] message of this song can bring us all together, in one place.”
Talking about the actual shoot, he adds, “We set up a microphone in this beautiful, historic church, and, as some of my closest team and friends sat in the pews, I sang the song a capella, with words echoing up and down the halls. It was truly a magical experience and one the rawest performances I’ve ever been a part of.”
Eldredge first debuted in 2013 with Bring You Back and, over the course of two subsequent LPs (2015’s Illinois and 2017’s self-titled album), he’s landed 5 No. 1 country airplay hits. But the 32-year-old says he gets something uniquely rewarding from performing his now annual run of holiday shows.
“I live for the opportunity to sing and put a smile on someone’s face and hope their heart,” he says, considering the festive dates. “I think that’s exactly what performing these classic Christmas songs for people can do. My inner kid comes out on that stage and it’s my happiest spot in the world.”
Eldredge is currently touring Glow, a full list of dates is available on the singer’s website.
